DUI Arrest - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Greensprings Hwy and the driver was arrested for DUI.
Crime Report for the Week of Sept. 28, 2026 09/08/26 DUI Arrest - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Lakeshore Pkwy and the driver was arrested for DUI. 09/09/26 Public Intox Arrest - Officers responded to a trespassing call in the 100 block of Vulcan Road. The subject was located and arrested for Public Intoxication.
Crime Report for the Week of Sept. 7, 2026 08/31/26 Narcotics Arrest - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Oxmoor Road and the driver was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. 09/03/26 Narcotics Arrest - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 100 block of Greensprings Highway. The driver was in possession of methamphetamine and was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. 09/04/26 Public Intox Arrest - Officers responded to a disorderly person call in the 200 block of Greensprings Hwy. The subject was located and arrested for Public Intoxication.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 28th, 2026 Drug Trafficking Suspect Arrested On September 24th, 2026, members of the Homewood Police Tactical Team, Special Investigations Unit, and K9 Unit, executed a search warrant in the 2400 block of Francis Ave SW in Birmingham from a narcotics case which originated in Homewood. During the execution of the search warrant, Demetrius Dawyene Davis (age 47) of Birmingham was detained. Officers recovered the following narcotics and evidence at the scene: - 1.5 pounds of cocaine - 6 ounces of methamphetamine - 7.5 ounces of ecstasy/MDMA - 0.75 pounds of marijuana - 70 controlled prescription pills - Drug packaging materials - Two firearms - $3,900 in cash Davis was also found to be a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal history. He was subsequently arrested and charged with the following: • Drug Trafficking (Cocaine) $75,000 bond • Drug Trafficking (Methamphetamine) $75,000 bond • Drug Trafficking (Ecstasy/MDMA) $75,000 bond • Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (1st Degree) $10,000 bond • Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance $10,000 bond • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia $500 bond • Certain Person Forbidden to Possess a Firearm $10,000 bond Davis was transferred to Jefferson County Jail with a total $255,500 bond. Additional federal criminal charges related to the case are pending. Pursuant to U.S. constitutional standards, all persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
Crime Report for the Week of August 24, 2026 08/18/26 Stolen Vehicle - An unlocked vehicle with the keys inside was stolen from the 200 block of Edgeview Drive. 08/19/26 UBEV - An unlocked vehicle was entered in the 200 block of Chastaine Circle and cash and credit cards were stolen. 08/19/26 Stolen Vehicle - A vehicle was stolen from the 200 block of Distribution Drive. 08/19/26 UBEV - An unlocked vehicle was entered in the 500 block of Norfolk Lane and electronics were stolen.
