UBEV - A vehicle was broken into with force in the 1300 block of Lakeshore Drive and a purse was stolen.

Stolen Vehicle Arrest - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 1600 block of Valley Ave. The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Texas and the driver was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property - 1st Degree.

Narcotics Arrest - Officers responded to a suspicious person call in the 2300 block of Huntington Ridge Rd. The subject was in possession of methamphetamine and was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

DUI Arrest - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 400 block of Raleigh Ave. The driver was arrested for DUI.

UBEV - An unlocked vehicle was broken into in the 100 block of Bonita Dr and a checkbook was stolen.

Weapons Offense Arrest - A  vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation on Greensprings Hwy and Valley Ave. The driver was a felon in possession of a firearm and was arrested for Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm.

Narcotics Arrest - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Lakeshore Pkwy. The driver was in possession of controlled pills and marijuana and was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

Narcotics Arrest - Officers responded to a suspicious person call in the 50 block of Aspen Cove. The subject was in possession of methamphetamine and was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Narcotics Arrest - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Oxmoor Rd. The driver was in possession of controlled pills and was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Child Predator Arrested FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 31, 2026 March 31, 2026 at 3:09 PM Homewood Police Department News Release On March 27th, 2026, Homewood Police Department investigators conducted an operation in the Edgewood area to arrest a known child predator. Chase Andrew Womble, age 41 of Sharpsburg, Georgia, was arrested for Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act. He was transferred to Jefferson County Jail where he is being held on a $60,000 bond.

Crime Report for the Week of March 23, 2026 03/09/26 Burglary - Officers investigated a residential burglary by force in the 1000 block of Columbiana Road where electronics were reported stolen. 03/13/26 Narcotics Arrest - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 100 block of Vulcan Road. The driver was in possession of methamphetamine and heroin and was arrested for Drug Trafficking. 03/14/26 DUI Arrest - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Lakeshore Pkwy and the driver was arrested for DUI.

Crime Report for the Week of March 9, 2026 Burglary - Officers investigated a business burglary in the 200 block of West Valley Ave where several items were stolen.

Crime Report for the Week of March 2, 2026 March 2, 2026 at 1:18 PM 02/28/26 Disorderly Conduct Arrest - Officers responded to a disorderly subject in the 2900 block of 16th Place S. The subject was yelling and cursing in the street and was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

Shooting Investigation at Brookwood Hospital FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 1, 2026 On March 1st, 2026, at approximately 9:25 PM, Homewood Police responded to Brookwood Hospital, located at 2010 Medical Center Drive, on a possible shots fired call. Officers arrived on scene and found a female subject and a male subject, both deceased from gunshot wounds. Preliminary investigation by Homewood Police detectives shows that the incident is an apparent murder-suicide. The area is still active as detectives and crime scene investigators continue to process the scene.
