Drug Trafficking Arrests

Drug Trafficking Suspects Arrested
On December 19th, 2025, members of the Homewood Police Tactical Team, Special Investigations Unit, K9 Unit, and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms executed a search warrant in the 1500 block of Warrior Road in Birmingham from a narcotics case which originated in Homewood. During the execution of the search warrant, Jessica Yvonne Moore (age 39) and Destiney Renee Jones (age 35), both from Birmingham, were detained.
Officers recovered 28 pounds of methamphetamine, $13,000 in cash, and four firearms, one of which was stolen. Both Moore and Jones were subsequently arrested and charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Moore was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. They were transferred to Jefferson County Jail with the following bonds:

• Trafficking Methamphetamine $500,000 bond
• Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia $500 bond
Additional federal criminal charges related to the case are pending.
Crime Report for the Week of March 23, 2026 03/09/26 Burglary - Officers investigated a residential burglary by force in the 1000 block of Columbiana Road where electronics were reported stolen. 03/13/26 Narcotics Arrest - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 100 block of Vulcan Road. The driver was in possession of methamphetamine and heroin and was arrested for Drug Trafficking. 03/14/26 DUI Arrest - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Lakeshore Pkwy and the driver was arrested for DUI.
Shooting Investigation at Brookwood Hospital FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 1, 2026 On March 1st, 2026, at approximately 9:25 PM, Homewood Police responded to Brookwood Hospital, located at 2010 Medical Center Drive, on a possible shots fired call. Officers arrived on scene and found a female subject and a male subject, both deceased from gunshot wounds. Preliminary investigation by Homewood Police detectives shows that the incident is an apparent murder-suicide. The area is still active as detectives and crime scene investigators continue to process the scene.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 26, 2026 In the last month, the Homewood Police Department has taken multiple reports involving stolen utility trailers from the West Homewood area, specifically on Distribution Drive and West Oxmoor Road. After a comprehensive investigation, Homewood Police detectives were able to identify the suspect as David Gregory Lewis, age 39, of Birmingham. Detectives obtained felony Theft of Property warrants on Lewis for four separate utility trailer thefts in Homewood. Lewis was located by officers and arrested on February 19th. Lewis was transferred to Jefferson County Jail with the following charges and bonds. Theft of Property – 1st Degree, three counts ($90,000 total bond) Theft of Property – 2nd Degree, one count ($15,000 bond)
